Weren't Dante's Devils Fashionably Dressed?

The imagery of Dante’s Inferno shaped the way on how we look at the image of the devil, and, often, it’s just something “scaring”. But, how were really represented devils in medieval times? What fears they wanted to arouse? Was their “look” always the same, or even the Devil himself dressed fashionably? Was fashion conveying an idea of sinful behavior and, in this case, how was it expressed in contemporary images? And, finally, what about the influence of Dante’s imagery on contemporary fashion? We will analyze and learn to look together at the deep meanings behind a concept only apparently easy to look at.
